Starting University is one of the most exciting periods of your life, but it can throw you into new and varied situations where you may need help or advice. We want you to get the most out of your time at UCE so provide a range of student services; from general questions and guidance on academic issues through to counselling and careers resources our services aim to support and advise you whenever necessary.

The Counselling and Wellbeing Service is a free, confidential and professional service for all students at UCE. Students talk to us about a variety of issues both personal and emotional, and study-related. You don't have to be in crisis and we are happy to help with any problem, however small.

We offer:

individual counselling

groups and workshops; covering topics such as stress management, relaxation, time management, assertiveness training, overcoming oral presentation anxiety and exam anxiety

consultation for staff

self-help resources

Faculty Student Advice Service

We are here to help with any problems you may have with academic life, and help you understand the University's modular system, rules and regulations. We can authorise extension requests and advise about mitigation. We are able to refer you to specialist advice and information sources which can offer more detailed and in-depth guidance e.g. financial advice, careers, learning support. Additionally, we can help with timetable and result queries.

The Faculty Student Advice Service is supportive of all students at UCE; full-time, part-time, undergraduate and postgraduate. Although we are attached to specific faculties or areas, it is our policy never to turn away students who need help.

International Student Advice

Studying in a new country is an exciting, life changing experience. To ensure that you continue to be a successful student at our University you will find a range of services specially designed for international students. The International Student Advice offers confidential advice and guidance on a range of issues from complex matters such as immigration advice to general guidance on entitlements as an international student in the Czech Republic. 

Whatever the issue might be the International Student Advice team has specially trained staff to ensure you make the most of your time at UCE.
